History has shown that the evolution of measurement is the key to the evolution
of societies, something we take for granted since most of our measurements are
already standardized. Richard Barrett believes that we are missing one very
important standardized measurement
-
human consciousness.
By creating psychological measurement technologies, Richard believes that we can
change the conversation not just about what exists, but what we need to move to
in order to resolve the current issues our global society is facing. Barrett
states: "By measuring consciousness we can make the evolution of consciousness,
conscious."
Richard Barrett developed the Cultural Transformation Tools (CTT), a measuring
system to map the consciousness of leaders and organizations at the company, the
Barrett Values Centre (BVC) in 1997. Nearly 18 years later, the CTT has been
established as globally-recognized set of tools for mapping the values and
measuring the consciousness of individuals and leaders and all forms of human
group structures (teams, organizations, communities and nations).
Barrett created the Seven Levels Model to be used as a template to describe the
stages of human psychological development: Surviving, Conforming,
Differentiating, Individuating, Self-actualizing, Integrating, and Serving.
In his book, The Metrics of Human Consciousness, Richard delves
into what consciousness is and how it can be quantified in order to
significantly improve our individual, organizational, and societal performance.
Richard Barrett, Founder and Chairman of the Barrett Values Centre, is an
