Kathy Miller Scogna spent her formative years in Darien, Connecticut, and completed her education at the Thomas School. Later, she attended Colorado Women's College, where she was introduced to the field of nutrition. Subsequently, she spent several years in California before marrying Joe Scogna and relocating to Pennsylvania in the mid-1970s. Joe Scogna was a dedicated nutritional researcher and writer who possessed an acute sensitivity to various energy fields, particularly radiation. Following the 3-Mile Island nuclear accident, he became actively involved in nutrition clinics.
